I heard back from the Mayor, Sue Murray, this morning. My poem is on her blog. More to the point, the musical evening raised £ 1,000 each for the Pilsdon at Malling Community and Spadework. This is wonderful news and I am happy to have been a part of such a wonderful occasion.

Thank you once again for last weekend. It has been very interesting and useful to read about your experiences from the “other side.”
On reflection, the poem was very much part of the music and from the responses it touched many local people.
Personally, it was one of my proudest moments in front of the band and I very much look forward to repeating in Belgium next year, perhaps even another bottle of port?
